Beating the Summer Heat | U Wash Doggie

U Wash Doggie Full Service Pet Grooming or DIY wash

Summers can get too hot in southern California.

Keeping your dogs cool in the summer is essential for their health.

You’re dog can get too hot which can lead to serious things. Always make sure your dog is hydrated. To prevent your dog from overheating, watch out for these symptoms:

  • Excessive panting
  • Excessive drooling
  • Dehydration

Remember that heat stroke symptoms can go unseen. To prevent that from happening, try these tips:

  • Put them in cool water or cool them off with slow running water from the garden hose.
  • Check their temperature – Their temperature can rise when it’s too hot.
  • Give them of plenty of water
  • Don’t let them stand on asphalt for too long

Before going our for a walk, make sure to check if the pavement is too hot. You can check it by placing your bare foot or hand and the ground and keeping it there for ten seconds. If you can’t handle the hotness, then that is how you know that your dog can’t either.

*REMEMBER, IF IT’S TOO HOT FOR YOU, IT’S TOO HOT FOR YOUR PET*

You can always bring your pet into U Wash Doggie whenever it’s hot to help them cool down. We can help cool them down by giving them our Full Service Pet Grooming or you can help them and give them a wash yourself. U Wash Doggie allows you to give your pet the care they need in their facilities without the difficulty of doing it in your home.
