Keeping your dogs cool in the summer is essential for their health.
You’re dog can get too hot which can lead to serious things. Always make sure your dog is hydrated. To prevent your dog from overheating, watch out for these symptoms:
- Excessive panting
- Excessive drooling
- Dehydration
Remember that heat stroke symptoms can go unseen. To prevent that from happening, try these tips:
- Put them in cool water or cool them off with slow running water from the garden hose.
- Check their temperature – Their temperature can rise when it’s too hot.
- Give them of plenty of water
- Don’t let them stand on asphalt for too long
Before going our for a walk, make sure to check if the pavement is too hot. You can check it by placing your bare foot or hand and the ground and keeping it there for ten seconds. If you can’t handle the hotness, then that is how you know that your dog can’t either.
